Richard Rainey is an Irish producer/mixer. Based in London, he is currently recording a new album for U2 with producers Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno.
Prior to that he was involved in various mixing projects including The Aliens, Kopek, Lights and U2. He also produced and mixed the current album for EMI Denmark band Grand Avenue.
Richard won 3 Grammys for his work on the 11 million selling U2 album 'All That You Can’t Leave Behind', winning Record of the year 2000 for “Beautiful Day”, Record of the Year 2001 for “Walk On” and Rock Album of the Year 2001. In addition, he produced dance remixes of both 'Beautiful Day' (as one half of remix duo Quincey & Sonance) and ‘Elevation’ for U2 single releases. He also mixes U2’s live TV and radio performances.
